A Desert Illuminated at the Garden

The Desert Botanical Garden’s exhibition, A Desert Illuminated, features 30 stunning photographs by Schaefer of Sonoran Desert cactus flowers. The exhibit is generously sponsored by Carol DuVal Whiteman.

Artist Background

John Schaefer, president emeritus of University of Arizona, conservationist, avid bird watcher and founder of the Nature Conservancy in Arizona established the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson with Ansel Adams.
